Dr. Jamal was born and raised in Edmonton, spending most of his life in the city’s southside Westbrook community. A lifelong athlete, he developed a passion for basketball at a young age and went on to play competitively at Harry Ainlay High School.
He completed his Bachelor of Science at the University of Alberta before taking two years to pursue research with the Parkinson’s Clinic of Eastern Toronto. During this time, he also dedicated himself to community service by volunteering with several children’s organizations, including the Boys & Girls Club and the Zebra Child Protection Centre. He later returned to the University of Alberta to earn his Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) degree.
Outside the clinic, Dr. Jamal enjoys exploring the world and has traveled to more than 15 countries. He is passionate about film photography, fashion, and discovering great coffee shops, where you’ll often find him enjoying a good book. He also enjoys supporting local businesses and is a regular visitor at Edmonton’s farmers’ markets.
Dr. Jamal is committed to providing compassionate, patient-centered care. He believes that every patient deserves to feel comfortable, informed, and confident throughout their dental experience. He encourages patients to ask questions about their treatment, oral health, or any aspect of dentistry, and takes the time to ensure they feel heard and understood.
As Dr. Jamal often says, “Patients may not remember every treatment they receive, but they’ll always remember how you made them feel.
